Datameer Appoints Mike Macey as New East Coast Vice President of Sales

Proven leader brings more than 25 years experience in strategic enterprise sales on aggressively expanding to meet global demand following its recent $19 million funding round, Datameer, Inc., the leader in self-service big data analytics on Hadoop, today announced that Mike Macey will join the company as vice president of sales, east. Macey previously served as Platfora’s sales director and has extensive experience in the industry, working with companies including YarcData, MicroStrategy and Netezza (acquired by IBM).

Macey’s expertise has placed him at the forefront of the analytics evolution over the past two decades. Previous roles in his 25 years of experience include a number of strategic roles that helped grow Netezza from $10 million to $250 million in sales through its successful IPO and subsequent acquisition by IBM, followed by leading IBM’s largest North American big data team. Macey also held multiple roles that aided in MicroStrategy’s growth from $20 million to its successful public offering.
