Tackling Debts with Vision and Strategies: CEO Mr Ashok Vemuri

An Indian American Business Executive, with immense decision making capabilities and leadership skills, Mr Ashok Vemuri is the present Chief Executive Officer of iGATE Global Solutions Limited.

The ex Infosys’ global head of manufacturing and engineering operations and services was also was elected to the Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the year 2009.

Holding Master’s degrees in Physics from St Stephens College, Delhi and Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad, Mr Vemuri started his career holding posts of repute at the Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.

Ever since joining Infosys, Mr Vemuri has always been in the news, sometimes for his strategic directions to maintaining and improving financial and operational efficiency and sometimes for his exemplary leadership skills which made the sectors he served, earn huge revenues during his period of service.

Since September 2013, Mr Vemuri has been serving as the CEO of iGATE Global Solutions Ltd.

In 2008, the young entrepreneur was recognized as one of the 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Centre. Further in 2008, he was selected by Business Today, a leading Indian magazine, as one of India’s 25 Hottest Young Executives.

Mr Vemuri is also a known name amongst the education sector pertaining to business as well and is a regular spokesperson at symposiums and conferences organized by the American Bankers Association, Wall Street, etc.

Taking CSR a step forward

The CEO of iGATE has been implementing strategies and plans to drive education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths ever since his Infosys days and has also been involved in the UN’s Every Woman Every Child movement to improve health. Taking his CSR strategies forward, Mr Vemuri leads the Social Responsibility Centre at iGATE called ICARE focusing on supporting the girl child’s education and uplifting the sports infrastructure in the Indian rural areas, today.

Guiding iGATE towards success

Ever since Mr Vemuri started his five year tenure at iGATE, he has expresses a deep desire to develop a new organisational structure where the leaders will have responsibility and accountability towards the clients, shareholders and employees, a step that came post sacking of his preceding CEO, Mr Murthy, for non disclosure of certain facts.

Aiming to tackle the debt of iGATE, Mr Vemuri has introduced new approaches including new target companies, new approaches towards industries such as exiting ones, etc for ensuring business continuity and maximum business productivity, simultaneously.

The changing position of the company in the global platform in the past one year is a witness to Mr Vemuri’s exemplary vision and capabilities to take iGATE a step ahead of its competitors, which raises no doubts that the company is definitely going to be a winner, sooner or later, in the years to come.
