Yet another amazing feature addition for WhatsApp; soon it will get GIF image support


Popular messaging app ‘WhatsApp’ is reportedly working on an update that will mechanically display GIFS, pasted in the conversation. Till now no information is provided on when the new feature will roll out to Android. Twitter account @WABetaInfo, which keeps a track of regular WhatApp beta updates stated that the changelog of WhatsApp beta for iOS is available now.

The changelog mentions that the app will be able to save GIFs ‘as a simple image.’ WhatsApp will insert GIFs from links and autoplay them in conversations. Well not only that, one will also be able to convert a GIF to a simple image.

According to the reports it has also been predicted that WhatsApp is expected to introduce video calling. AndroidPit reported receiving screenshots from users running the beta version of WhatsApp on iOS, that shows a video call button at the top of the chat, next to the regular call button.

The feature is not yet usable and has also not been activated yet or both parties need to have the beta app. In addition, other users that volunteers to translate WhatsApp to various languages, have received requests to translate the audio and video call options as well.

Other features added by WhatsApp recently include a call back button in WhatsApp call notifications, and ZIP file sharing.
