The all new digital marketing angle of Garden City Telegram
The Garden City Telegram is offering a whole new service, The Harris Marketing Solutions, to provide key digital marketing services to local businesses. Harris Marketing Solutions is a service of Harris Enterprises, the Telegram’s parent company, offering a full suite of digital and traditional marketing services, including professional video and photography services, copy writing, graphic design, website development, social and search marketing, print advertising, event marketing and marketing strategy and planning.
“We know digital marketing has become essential,” Editor-publisher Dena Sattler said. “The question for many businesses and organizations is how to best utilize the many options available to help achieve their goals.”
The new digital agency, launched by Harris Enterprises, a 90-year-old family-owned publishing business that includes The Telegram, The Hutchinson News, Salina Journal, The Ottawa Herald, Hays Daily News, and The Hawk Eye in Burlington, Iowa, will provide digital marketing services to small businesses in all Harris markets.
“Through Harris Marketing Solutions, we’re offering more digital products and services, along with expertise needed to help businesses understand which options best suit them, so they can be better positioned to connect with consumers,” Sattler said. Harris Marketing Solutions is led by Jenn Bertematti, a veteran of The New York Times and Time Inc. with 20 years of experience in digital media and Chris Charlton, a 25-year veteran of Sprint and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), the newly named director of business development for the group.
Basic services include presence and reputation management, website design and development and targeted digital advertising, according to Bertematti. HMS is based in Hutchinson, but each newspaper will have trained representatives who will handle local services, explain them to businesses and help businesses determine what they need. “The great thing for businesses is they are still working locally with the folks that they know, with the faces they know. We’re handling everything on the backend,” Bertematti said, adding that businesses will continue working with their local Telegram advertising reps.
Bertematti explained HMS can help businesses with how they turn up in online search engines, and monitor what people say about their businesses in reviews or other online venues.
“Social media management is another service we offer, so setting up Facebook pages, managing those pages or providing tools that make it easier to manage,” she said. “Social media is a great way to get customers, but it’s time consuming to manage. We have some tools to make that easier or we can handle it for businesses.” HMS will be able to offer services that can extend audiences, create digital ads that will run on sites across the web and mobile apps, and have the capability to target those ads to the people a business wants to reach, both geographically and demographically. “We can do retargeting, so if you visit a website, and go somewhere else, you’ll see that ad again,” she said. “We can set up a campaign and monitor it to make sure it’s meeting the goals of the advertiser.”
