The Google Duo app will soon be advertised on Google.com home page

After its initial release, the Google Duo app initially received with mixed reactions. Many criticized it but at the same time many called it the next big thing.Google is indeed trying hard to break into the Instant Messaging markets. While there have been a number of occasions where the company has tried out with a messaging app, none of them really got as popular as the company wanted. With the Duo apps, Google wants to ensure they are used by as many people as possible.

With an effort leave no stones unturned, Google has now been doing the best they can to promote the Google Duo app. This app brings a simpler solution to video calling. A video call can be made in as less as 2 taps. The app is indeed quite popular, and is also soon expected to get the audio calling feature.

Now advertising the Google Duo app on their home page at Google.com, the company generally avoids doing this, and rarely does it. Even when they do so, they put in simple text ads. The first (and the only) time that Google used an animated ad on the google.com page, they were heavily criticized. This is a major advertising effort to promote the Google Duo app. The text on the Google.com page below the search bar reads: “Face-to-face with just a tap. Try Duo, simple video calling for Android and iOS.” In addition to that, Google has also published a series of ads about the Google Duo in their YouTube channel. However, Google is indeed going face major competition from the likes of WhatsApp, Skype and Facebook Messenger. The Google Duo app recently crossed 10 million downloads.
