The tech giant is moving one step closer to completely appealing in the messaging world, with the release of a new video app called Clips. It is expected that, with this move, Apple’s massive base of iPhone users could assist it compete with Snapchat and Facebook Messenger.

The app which will allow its users to obtain videos and add lively captions and titles, complete with colourful emoji symbols is expected to hit Apple’s App Store in April.With that it is also makes it probable to sew up jointly multiple video clips and add speech bubbles and filters.

How does it works- The functions of the new app intimately look like the function that coerce Snap’s wildly popular Stories feature. With the Stories, Snap users cord together photos and videos, decorate them and then post them to their feeds.

Apple’s all new Clips allows its users to post their video to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo and more. But if the  in return post them to Apple’s own Messages app, then the tech giant will advise whom to share it with based on which friends are in the videos and whom the user regularly contacts – the kind of predictive social features Facebook shine at.

The tech giant has an enormous number of users for Messages, the app flagship for short notes that is built into the iPhone’s iOS 10 software. As of now, the company does not say how many people use the app, but it does say those there more than 1 billion iOS devices on the market and that 79 per cent of them run iOS 10.

Rendering the company potentially up to 800 million users for its latest messaging platform, the tech giant ‘Apple’ also says that Messages is the most commonly used app on iOS devices. Snap, by contrast, has 161 million daily active users. While Apple’s Clips competitor will strictly be a separate app from Messages, it will be tied closely to it for the ability share Clips videos with other Apple users.
