Microsoft is finally releasing its much-hyped Timeline feature in the Windows 10 test build
The Silicon Review
22 December, 2017

Microsoft is rolling out a new feature to Windows 10 called Timeline. The software giant had announced about this new update seven months back, and now it is finally available to try. It will be available in Windows 10 build 17063 only for those users who are in the more experimental Fast Ring and opted into the Skip Ahead builds.

The Timeline feature will let users find and resume their recent activities if they are switching between Windows 10 devices. Like Apple’s continuity feature in iOS and macOS, the new feature will also extend to some Microsoft apps on iOS and Android devices with the help of Cortana integration. Cortana will also provide suggestions on which tasks to continue making it easier to get back to an earlier task. Timeline will highlight those documents that you’ll likely want to work on, but it also will present you with a full list of your recent activities, organized by hour.

Besides Timeline, another new feature that the company first announced last month is Sets. The idea here is to let you group documents, files and applications that belong to a given task into a single interface and make those available to you with a single click. In the latest version of Windows 10, gestures too have been improved for precision touch pads, allowing you to pinch and zoom on a track pad.
