Critique on the new Microsoft’s Surface Laptop
The Silicon Review
19 June, 2017

Microsoft’s original surface products, the first gen Surface Pro and Surface RT made people ask why Microsoft is coming up with a tablet? But now the question is why laptop? The rationale for manufacturing original tablets was because there were no cool touch screen devices for Windows8.

This laptop may be traditional but has excellent looks which is lighter than 13-inch MacBook Pro and is thin for its screen size. The components inside are about what you'd expect from a premium laptop in this price range: an Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage in the starting configuration ($999, £979 or AU$1,499). That swells to 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD in our upgraded review unit ($1,299, £1,249 or AU$1,999).

The default color is platinum, basically a silver-gray. For now, it is the only color available under thousand bucks. If you opt for graphite gold, burgundy or cobalt blue it is more expensive 8GB/256GB configuration. The fabric material looks upscale and isn’t fuzzy and is relatively easy to clean.
