Dell’s technology doesn’t need any extra hardware; the Dell Mobile Connect can still conveniently bring up your phone’s dialer, make calls and send texts without relying on Windows’ People app. The phone calls will be done via your PC with the PC’s speakers and built-in mic. Considering the restrictions in iOS platform, Dell hopes that that they will be able to provide these services to iOS too, making it one of their USPs for Dell laptops. Dell unveiled its nifty and free technology at CES that mirrors your Android or iOS phone on your PC so that you can navigate apps right from your computer. The new app called Mobile Connect lets you do that and will be available on all new Dell computers. Dell has lately been adopting services to make its hardware appealing to customers, and now it is up to offering the first ever integration between smartphones and PCs.

The users can establish a wireless connection between their smartphones and their Windows PC, and the technology then provides them the ability to respond to text messages and view incoming phone notifications right from their computers. The app uses Bluetooth for command and control and Wi-Fi to transmit the bulk of the data. It’s somewhat similar to the functionality offered by Cortana on Windows or Notification Center on macOS, but the user doesn’t have to sign into each individual account on the desktop. The technology also lets you play Android games on your PC.
