Red Hat will help companies to develop Container Based Applications

 At the Red Hat Summit earlier this week, Red Hat has decided to join hands with IBM and Microsoft in order to help other companies create container-based applications. It will also help developers to use the jointly managed container services.

The deal has paved a way for both customers and companies to create and utilize applications with the help of IBM’S cloud services powered by Red Hat’s OpenShift Container platform. Furthermore, the software products from IBM’s WebSphere, DB2, and MQ have been labelled as certified containers on OpenShift.

“The move would provide more choice and flexibility to customers looking to move towards container applications,” said Arvind Krishna, senior vice president of IBM Hybrid Cloud.

With the mixed services, Red Hat users can use services by IBM like a cloud-based AI, IOT and Blockchain tools. Moreover, Microsoft will provide a uniform service to the customers in the process of creating applications which also includes assistance to OpenShift on Azure Stack to use it in a Hybrid cloud solution.

"Today, we’re combining both companies’ leadership in Kubernetes, hybrid cloud, and enterprise operating systems to simplify the complex process of container management, with an industry-first solution on Azure," says Scott Guthrie, the executive vice president of Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise group.

Additionally, in another announcement, IBM stated that its Powered platform will be available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
