The Age of Robotic Chefs is here: Spyce restaurant will serve food in less than 3 minutes

How would it be if Robots could cook the food for us? The technological breakthrough has reached a new height, as now Robots are actually cooking food for people in a restaurant in USA. The restaurant called “Spyce”, is serving food with the help of robotic chefs in Boston. And the stunning idea behind this innovation comes from a group of robotics engineers from MIT.

“Our restaurant is really efficient because people focus on what people are good at, but the robot handles the high volume tasks – like the cooking and washing – that robots are good at”, said Michael Farid, co-founder, Spyce.

There are seven robotic chefs working in the line for fulfilling the demands of the food lovers. The robots will cook the meal based on portioned ingredients from fridges to woks and then deliver it to the customers in less than three minutes via an order placed by people. And the robots clean their woks with water jets.

Compostable bowls starting at $ 7.50, customers can choose the bowls using colourful touch-screens. A typical meal will include vegetables and healthy grains and there will be different cuisines like Latin, Thai, Mediterranean, and Hearth. “We didn’t want to create a black box that produces a meal”, said Mr. Farid. “We wanted this experience to be exciting”, he added.
