Saudi Arabia starts its first public cloud data centre through the SAP

There is a good news for the citizens of Saudi Arabia as the German multinational software corporation SAP has opened the first public cloud data centre in Saudi Arabia earlier this week. And it will also assist the 2030 digital strategy for the country.

Furthermore, the latest setup will provide a fresh and professional level of cloud-based digital solutions to speed up transformation and competitiveness in the country, underscoring the commitment to Saudi Vision 2030. By using the data centre, organisations can adopt scalable cloud solutions for 25 industries and 12 lines of business. Customers can run the SAP HANA in-memory database and SAP Cloud Platform and access the firm’s ERP solutions.

The SAP is also finding new ways to integrate its Public Cloud Data centre with the Saudi Government Cloud. Moreover, it is boosting up the economic growth and its Startup Program is helping the local entrepreneurs. In the recent time, reported that quarterly group cloud revenue was up by almost a fifth (18%) to over €1bn and its new cloud bookings were up 25% to €245m for the first quarter.

Moreover, like other major software firms, including IBM and Oracle, SAP is trying to continually convert more on-premise customers to cloud ones, as that is where the sales growth opportunity is. Earlier this year, SAP announced the acquisition of cloud solutions firm Callidus Software, with that deal now completed.
