Committed to his vision of proffering quality Healthcare in India on par with international standards, Dr. R.Kishore Kumar founded Cloudnine in 2007 with a sturdy determination. He pioneered the concept of maternal healthcare in India with Cloudnine – a facility dedicated to providing exclusive and comprehensive services in maternal and child care. Dedicated to his passion for scaling new heights in Neonatology, as the Founding Chairman and senior neonatologist, Kishore has been instrumental in securing the pinnacle attained by Cloudnine today.

An internationally acclaimed Neonatologist, Kishore has worked in four continents over the course of his career covering North America, UK, Asia and 12 years in Australia. After completing his MBBS from Gulbarga University, he then did DCH from Mysore University and London. He also has an MD with a gold medal from Mysore University, MRCP (Paed) & FRCPCH from UK as well as MRCPI (Paed) and FRCPI from Ireland and FRACP from Australia along with Fellowship in Advanced Neonatal Intensive Care. At the time of his qualification, he was amongst one of the youngest and highest qualified Neonatologists in the world. To his credit, he has worked only in teaching hospitals around the world. Among his many awards and accreditations is the honour of being felicitated by former US President Bill Clinton for his exceptional achievements in the field of Neonatology.

Brief on Kishore’s dream venture ‘Cloudnine’

Being a founding brain at Cloudnine, Kishore and his passionate team truly believe that child is life’s greatest gift, which deserves to be nurtured and cared for, not just at birth, but for the entire duration of pregnancy. “3 years into our success, lots of parents who came for delivery saw our standard of services, transparency and accountability and requested us to provide them with infertility services rather than going elsewhere. Hence we looked into this & started Cloudnine Fertility Centres in 2009/10. The average success rate for infertility treatments at that time was around 30% in India and 35% to 40% around the world! Indian women are generally younger compared to our western counterparts who undergo fertility treatments. Hence we thought we should have better success rates with that motto by using Embryology techniques by a visiting Senior Embryologist from Australia who helped us train our local embryologists. Since then we have consistently been achieving higher success rates than those generally seen at other centers,” Explained Dr. Kishore.

In their endeavor to achieve international standards of women and child care in India, Cloudnine also arranges events like Baby Shower, Management of Baby Affairs (MBA) and Prenatal workshops are organized for all the moms-to-be, to provide the expert advice to make their journey of parenthood memorable, safe and confident.

An ardent believer of humanity, Kishore is man of deeds. An expert in Intact Survival of premature babies less than 28 weeks, Neonatal Screening, Neonatal Jaundice, Feeding of premature babies, Antenatal Counseling of parents with babies of metabolic disorders, previous IUDs and structural abnormalities, he is a Chief-Editor of ABCD Neonatology- a handbook of common neonatal problems for parents. A field expert, Kishore interest for writing has credited him 75 manuscripts in peer reviewed journals, 2 books on premature babies – “Arrived too soon” and “ABCD of Neonatology”, 6 chapters in books and recent advances, Honorary Editor of Paediatric-On-Call, an online journal (Sept 2008 – Present) and has also presented over 90 papers in National & International Conferences.

Global proficiency and work knowledge
As part of his career, Kishore has gained a full-fledged experience by working internationally. He has worked in Australia for over 12 years in teaching Hospitals & Universities as faculty. Worked as a Consultant in Australia for over 9 years, Kishore carries experience in Neonatal Emergency Transport Service (NETS) in Australia for over a year, having worked in Sydney Children’s Hospital and the New Children’s Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He has completed his fellowships in Advanced Neonatal Intensive Care in Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia and Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) Fellowship in Sydney Children’s Hospital (Sydney, Australia.)

Kishore has also worked in accredited teaching programmes in teaching hospitals (Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle Upon Tyne and Great Ormand Street, London).

With all the experience & expertise achieved nearly over 2 decades, Dr Kishore has established a leading Chain of Maternity and Newborn Care Hospitals in India in a short span of 8 years – and has revolutionized the “Single Speciality Hospitals” sector in that segment in a BIG way. He has been active to achieve similar standards all across health sectors in India.
