Jim Wirt graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Computer Science in 1985. During his time at Oklahoma State, he provided independent computer work for several departments of OSU, and wrote the core application that managed KICKER Audio (formerly known as Stillwater Designs) while they experienced their initial explosive growth phase. Over the years, Jim’s client base grew, eventually pushing him to hire assistants for running the business, especially as he spent time outside the country on mission trips.

In 2006, Aaron Bean joined the Beardon team as a programmer to assist with work from Oklahoma State’s Fire Service Training department. Finding success there, Beardon Group LLC was formed in 2008. “I like working with people. I feel that I’m here to help and serve the wonderful team of workers God has given me. I love Jesus and love being used by Him… I think we can help people with their business computing needs, and build personal relationships with our clients. We’re ready to assist in any capacity needed,” said Jim Wirt, CEO and Founder of Beardon.

In the Technical Field

Beardon has been providing technical solutions to organizations of all shapes and sizes for nearly thirty years. Its past clientele consists of groups like Oklahoma State University and Fire Protection Publications, the international publishing company for all IFSTA-approved fire service training, as well as local businesses like KICKER and the Mercury Marine production plant.

In addition to providing work for and with other businesses in Oklahoma, Beardon have a range of larger scale projects managed and developed in-house. Its Floorizon project aims to provide a smart solution for real estate agents trying to show off floor plans and corresponding photographs. It also developed a web application for Fire Protection Publications, called MEMSB, that’s geared to making instructional designer collaboration a snap.

Jim Wirt founded Beardon Services in 1986, after graduating from OSU with a Computer Science Degree. Jim founded the company as an opportunity to help others that God puts him in contact with, in a variety of ways. Jim wears many hats, providing xTuple customization and implementation, developing software as need, and providing owner level management regarding projects and business strategy. Outside of owning Beardon, Jim plays softball, is a Pastor, and enjoys researching and learning about new technologies, and following OSU sports and spending time with his family.
