Story behind Etrends Inception
An American motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar had once said “The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty.” Blending these key founding stones for success, Manesh Karani, founded Etrends in 2003 with sheer dedication and enthusiasm. And today, the company has evolved from a website development company to a special GRC Solution provider in INDIA.
In 2006, the founder got an opportunity to work with Ernst and Young to develop a web application for Project Management, for one of their clients which gave him a new beginning to look at a niche market of web applications instead of developing regular websites. He then started getting lots of projects for web applications from big corporate to automate their processes since very few players were there in web application development.
He along with his fellow mates continued doing customised web applications for customers from across industries for nearly 4 years. And then, in around 2009 they grabbed this wonderful opportunity to develop GRC tools for one of the TATA Group of Companies, and finally decided to focus solely on the GRC tools since no INDIAN company was into this domain of GRC solutions. And since then they never looked back, completely focusing and developing GRC tools under the brand name LASER. Today LASER is one of the leading brand in INDIA providing GRC Solutions.

Manesh Karani, Founder & Chairman- Bringing 17 years of experience and expertise from the software industry, Manesh is the soul of Etrends. In 2009, he converted the company into product based company and developed the LASER brand for GRC solutions and presently, looks after the business development and legal aspect of the company. He holds an Engineering Degree from Mumbai University.
Anupama Sharma, Director- Anupama’s association with the company is right from the date of Etrends incorporation. She is responsible to look after the HR, accounts and training in the company. She has an Hon’s in B.Com and an MBA (Finance) from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
Sandeep Chalke, Management Consultant- Sandeep is instrumental in accelerating the growth and expansion in terms of finding suitable partners across the globe. He is Vice President – Advanced Wound Dressing – Global Business at Acelity, based in Bridgewater, NJ since May-2015.

Problem – One of the biggest retail chain in INDIA, having more than 400 + stores with 4-5 brands across INDIA were looking to automate the Internal Audit process which was done manually. Every month the humongous task of compiling the data across 400+ stores, preparing reports and getting the gaps and tracking the issues was a major pain and matter of concern for the client. Even the management was unable to get any status as desired, also the productivity of the audit team was utilized less than 50% in core audit activities, and rest of the time was spent in collating, creating reports.
Solution- LARS helped the client to simplify and automate the complete process and that too in a record time of 2 months. The implementation and training at PAN INDIA was done.
