Instagram’s to roll out its algorithmic feed to everybody worldwide
The Silicon Review
07 June, 2016

One of the popular free photo and video sharing app Instagram created a buzz when it started testing an algorithmic feed with a few users. And now almost after 10 months, the company has decided turning on the news feed for everyone globally.

The company in a blog post mentioned that, “On average, people miss 70 percent of their feeds. It’s become harder to keep up with all the photos and videos people share as Instagram has grown. Over the past few months, we brought this new way of ordering posts to a portion of the community, and we found that people are liking photos more, commenting more and generally engaging with the community in a more active way.”

The company also stated that, in order to make the Instagram even better over the time they are in plans to improve the user experience. It added, “With this new ordering you won’t miss your favourite band’s video after the concert, even if it took place across the world in a different time zone. And no matter how many accounts you follow, you should see your best friend’s latest posts.”

A survey carried by Forrester Research in December last year showed that young crowd aged between 12 to 17 has rated Instagram the third- “coolest” social network after YouTube and Snapchat. Well that’s not it; the results also showed that it is ahead of Facebook, which acquired Instagram in 2012.
