IBM’s new Private Cloud Software platform has been launched
The Silicon Review
03 November, 2017

For all those companies which did not want to move into private clouds, this is happy news. IBM has recently announced a new private cloud software platform to create on-premises which is similar to public cloud. The solution is built on Kubernetes-based container architecture, supporting Docker containers and Cloud Foundry. As the digital disruption is transforming the market, more companies are investing more than $50 billion globally starting in 2017 to create and evolve private clouds with growth rates of 15 to 20%. IBM Cloud Private brings rapid application development and modernization to existing IT infrastructure and positions it to be combined with the services and experience of a public cloud platform.

Adopting public cloud services were not always acceptable to the organizations. But with the IBM cloud’s updated version, the challenge of transitioning complex enterprise systems and applications into a true cloud-native environment is eliminated. The key features of the technology includes cloud management automation, security and data encryption, a container engine, Kubernetes orchestration, management tools developer runtimes, infrastructure choice, data and analytics, and application support and DevOps tools. With this the dependency on internal data centres can be reduced to a larger extent.
