Satya Nadella launches 'Skype Lite' app with Aadhaar support

Satya Nadella launches 'Skype Lite' app with Aadhaar support

Satya Nadella, CEO of tech giant Microsoft recently made an announcement about the integration of Skype and Aadhaar to begin the 'Skype Lite'. Pertinent for low speed mobile internet connections, Skype Lite will be supported by Aadhaar and will facilitate technology that can authorize people and organizations.

While addressing at Future Decoded event, Nadella said that users can converse with 'Aadhaar Verified' users on both the regular Skype app and the new Skype Lite app while interacting for job interviews, government services and other services.

"Your next Skype Job interview might need Aadhaar verification. You can soon enter your Aadhaar number over Skype to verify yourself for an interview. The service can be extended for government services as well," said Nadella.

If Aadhaar Verified that the Skype chat is over, the Aadhaar data then will be automatically deleted from the device.

Applauding the efforts of Andhra Pradesh, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu for taking bold verdict to make the state a first cloud state, Nadella added that the change is happening as the finance sector is also experiencing digital transformation referring State Bank of India (SBI) who has recently opted out for the cloud, and soon will be adopting Office 365.

"They will use cloud service es to help service citizens of the state," added Nadella.

Nadella also admired automotive manufacturing giant Tata Motors who soon will be joining Microsoft on the cloud. By citing an example of automobile industry and how a few of these firms are depending on the Microsoft Cloud with a trust to change their business.

"They will build the ability to collect data, rendezvous with the Cloud, reshape the maintenance, warranty and more importantly the experience of the driver," he said.

"I had a chance to meet an entrepreneur who is reshaping healthcare. This entrepreneur is using data to reshape diagnostic capabilities. The fact that diabetes can be monitored in a more effective manner can reshape healthcare," he added.

Apart from this, the alluring CEO Nadella and e-commerce giant announced their cloud partnership as Flipkart will be solely using Microsoft Azure as its public cloud. Well, that’s not all, in a meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Nadella assured government about its initiatives in healthcare and education.
