Cisco and IBM fuse to strengthen security effectiveness

Cisco and IBM fuse to strengthen security effectiveness
The Silicon Review
24 August, 2017

Cisco and IBM on May 30, 2017 announced their tie up to address the increasing threats and need to respond quickly and also to offer specific product integrations, a managed security service provider (MSSP) roadmap, and it caters to respond to the threat intelligence collaboration programs.

Basically, the main reason of joining hands is to make security simple and more effective which is a reflection of every company’s commitment to openness and interoperability. Both Cisco and IBM focus on reducing the time to identify threats and mitigate it.

We will explicate about their offerings:

  • Product integrations: Cisco is on the verge to build new applications for the IBM QRadar SIEM platform which alerts security teams to understand and react to the advanced threats.
  • Services: To further reduce complexity, the IBM End to End Outsourcing and Managed Security Services team is working with Cisco to deliver new services. IBM and Cisco Security customers can utilize the solutions to complement the existing architecture.

Product integrations are available in the forth coming weeks starting with the Cisco Firepower NGIPS, NGFW and Thread Grid applications.
