Microsoft Plans to Expand the Game Pass To PC
The Silicon Review
27 October, 2018

Recently, during an earnings call for the first-quarter of 2019, CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella mentioned that the company’s gaming revenue may grow by as much as 44%. He has also said that Microsoft has plans of expanding the Game Pass subscription service from Xbox One to PC.

According to reports, Nadella didn’t mention when to expect the subscription to expand. Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” initiative towards games has given its customers a smile on their faces as PC and Xbox versions of games are available across both platforms.

Talking Microsoft’s gaming, the company has made a bold move by its recent announcement. Game Pass has been an isolated marketplace to date and by expanding its service to PC, it is going to face some serious competition.

As of now, the monthly Xbox One Game Pass subscription is $10. However, with the expansion of its service to PC, the price could changewith an optional extra fee without paying for an entirely separate subscription.

Nadella also mentioned that it would feature all first-party games which will include Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4. Furthermore, Microsoft is also in talks with publishers introduce third-party Game Pass games.

This move by Microsoft will definitely help the company to gain some more profit in the gaming industry.
