RoadBotics has finally found a high-tech solution to one of the ever-present human problem

One of the biggest, ever-present problem that one faces while driving is thumping over a pothole. This is a really daunting issue because it can lead to punctured tire or accidents in the worst case. This problem is not new, and in most of the cases, roads never seem to get fixed. Understanding the seriousness of the problem, RoadBotics, a startup has come up with a solution to provide automated and affordable road surveys using smartphones.

The company has developed a high-tech technology that identifies cracks in the roads and alerts the drivers to drive safely. Every little detail of the surface beneath the wheels can be zoomed in using the interface.

For its innovative idea to solve this 2,500-year-old problem, RoadBotics has received crucial funding and guidance from URBAN-X, an accelerator for startups that work to re-think city life and solve problems faced by the urban population. Although the permanent solution to this problem would be regular inspection of the roads to repair it as and when any cracks or crags are examined, road maintenance is not an easy task and it isn’t feasible to survey each and every street very often.

Hence, RoadBotics has finally found a solution; a dash-mounted smartphone in every vehicle that examines every street networks and keeps the driver informed in real-time about any potholes, bumps etc. on the roads, and alerts about the safety while driving.
