Sony’s new PS4 Pro fixes the noise issues it had
The Silicon Review
08 November, 2018

The original PS4 Pro could get really loud under the load while running intense games. But there is a sigh of relief for the PS4 lovers as these noise problems have finally been solved. The latest console revision may not be cooler or energy efficient but it is definitely quieter.CUH-7200, the revised model looks similar to the previous models of the PS4 Pro from the outside. However, Sony has switched to the slimmer, standard figure-eight cable in its new PS4 Slim which is also used by Microsoft for its Xbox One S consoles. Although the slight modifications like this don’t seem to make any significant change to the heat output or power consumption.

The updated PS4 Pro model is quieter; it has a major drop in the fan noise to between 44 and 48dBfrom between 50 and 55dB for the original model. The company hasn’t revealed all the changes in the revised model. Hence, it is difficult to know what has been modified unless one rips apart one of the consoles.

If someone is planning to buy a PS4 Pro this holiday season, this is the perfect model to go for. The buyers must see the CUH-7216B on the front of the packaging. Although buying the revised model nowmeans having a copy of the gaming console the player might already own, it will quickly become the default console.
