Apple may launch a new cheaper iPad

Apple may launch a new cheaper iPad
The Silicon Review
26 March, 2018

According to a source report, Apple could be announcing an entry-level version of iPad at its press event on March 27 in Chicago, USA.

Moreover, Apple had already introduced a cheap iPad earlier in March 2017 without any press conference or announcements. The previous iPad looked like the Ipad Air 2 equipped with a 9.7-inch retina display with an A9 chip (the same chip that was used in iPhone 6S). The entry-level Ipad is simply called ‘’iPad’’ which only costs $320 for the 32GB version.

Most likely, Apple is ready to launch an updated version of the 2017 iPad. We can expect a more sophisticated and faster version of it. Even if Apple decides to cut down on its price with its new entry-level iPad, then it could be a smart bet.

The iPad is considered as a great device which can be used in classrooms, while Google has convinced many schools with its Chromebooks as these laptops are very cheap, secure and easy to maintain.

The company did not reveal about the specifications or features but it would be different from the existing device, apparently.  Apple will also showcase new software designed exclusively for classrooms.

It’s been six years since Apple first held an education-focused product launch when it unveiled a tool for designing e-books for iPads in 2012. A cheaper iPad isn’t the only option Apple is exploring this year. According to the well-respected Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has predicted that it will be releasing a new, cheaper MacBook Air in 2018.
