Microsoft has stood out in its quest to catch Amazon Web Services by establishing a new gaming cloud division.
The software giant unveiled its new gaming cloud division on Thursday to develop a gaming experience for the future which will be different to today.
Microsoft said it has formed a team to focus on what it calls the "Gaming Cloud." This project is headed by Kareem Choudhry, a 20-year Microsoft veteran that has worked on Outlook, DirectX, and Xbox engineering and a corporate vice president at Microsoft who reports to Xbox head Phil Spencer. Choudhry is focusing on to make sure that the game makers have tools to build powerful and reliable internet-connected games both in and outside the company.
He told in an interview with The Verge that Phil wanted a dedicated team which only focused exclusively on the gaming cloud and those conversations started getting realized from last summer, and they started creating the structure of the organization at the end of last year. The new division is designed to entice developers and game publishers to use Microsoft’s cloud services.

Sony’s gaming console PlayStation is still popular and kicking on the PS4 and PC, and NVIDIA is doubling down on game streaming with GeForce Now, its cloud gaming service. But NVIDIA’s service is still a beta test yet and the graphic mogul has not figured out how the high-end game streaming should be charged. Microsoft has not disclosed much about what the new gaming cloud division is working on yet, but its head, Kareem Choudhry, hints that they're exploring ways to bring content to gamers on any device.
