Now open doors remotely with the new smart intercom by Klevio

The London based home startup Klevio has launched a smart cloud-connected intercom device that allows people to have control over the doors remotely. The device can be used via an iOS and Android app on the Smartphone.

Dubbed as Klevio one, it is the first product of the company and it is exclusively designed to replace the conventional electric strike-enabled door locks. It can also interface with the intercom systems which are found on the doors of houses and apartments. According to the company, the new lock is suitable for flats rather than the existing smart locks which are available in the market.

The approach the London-based company has taken is different to smart locks that typically use a motor to turn the lock and require tearing out and replacing your existing lock,” said Ales spetic, Co-founder and CEO, Klevio. “In contrast, if you already have an electric strike as part of your lock, which a lot of apartments do, the Klevio One can simply be wired to interface with it. If you don’t, a Klevio installer can fit one to your existing lock for you,” he added.

According to Klevio, it took several years to test the new product with electric strike technology. Klevio One can be used for multiple doors and while installing it, there is no need of modifying the communal area of the flats or apartment buildings. In addition, the device is only accessible by the individual owners, they can still use any old physical key as a backup.
