Siempo: The App that wants to un-addict people from smartphones and its numerous attention-stealing apps.

siliconreview Siempo: The App that wants to un-addict people from smartphones and its numerous attention-stealing apps.

Nowadays, one of the major problems among people is smartphone distractions. A new app called Siempo hopes to help people to cut down on their smartphone usage and become distraction free. The Android app is designed to minimize smartphone distraction among the users. By turning the phone’s background white and by replacing the flashy icons with bland ones, this new App might put an end to smartphone addiction.

We want smartphones to be good for our well-being, for our mental health, for our productivity, for our sleep, for our relationships, and unfortunately right now many of them are designed to be in the way of that,” says co-founder and CEO OF Siempo, Andrew Dunn.

Users can download the Siempo from the Google Play Store. After downloading, users will have to select the purpose of using the app. The next step will involve identifying the distracting apps by the users. Once it is done, Siempo will always rearrange the distracting apps to prevent the apps from being used.

After the installation process, the phone’s home screen will be changed to a calmer interface without any badged icons or colourful corporate logos. Here, the users can modify their own message which would appear on the lock screen. Every day, an update will pop out to ensure that the distracting apps are not used.

Furthermore, Siempo has collected funds for this software from Backstage Capital and other investors. The app is free during its beta, but very soon it will be a paid app with a subscription starting at $1 /month.
