Anker’s SoundCore Spirit X Sports Earphones are a great pair to check out
The Silicon Review
08 June, 2018

Anker, mainly known for its power banks and charging cables, recently released a set of workout earbuds, Spirit X, under its brand name – SoundCore. It’s targeted at runners and heavy work out enthusiasts since its main feature is that it is completely waterproof under the IPX7 rating which means that it can stand up to a 1-meter submersion.

These are not swimming earphones. The IPX7 rating means that they are resilient towards sweat and rain but not a few dozen laps in the pool. This rugged pair of headphones has an aqua-phobic Nano-coating on the outside which protects the inside of the earphones making them stronger than any other pair of earbuds that have an IPX rating. While Anker has worked on improved product features with the rubber ear hooks that keep them in place the sound quality is that of a normal sports headphone.

SoundCore has inbuilt high octane sound with the help of precision tuning, incredible bass as well as crystal clear mids and highs.

There is a small flap at the bottom of the control that hides a micro USB port for charging accompanied by three buttons – volume up, track change, and volume down. There is also a built-in microphone for calls but there are no voice prompts. Not only do these make for a sturdy pair, the earphones support a continuous playback of 12 hours. Basically, you can make for a week’s worth of workouts without having to charge them.

Over the last few years, Anker is expanding its reach in the market by building cost effective gear and making a place for themselves in the headphone market.
