Now Facebook wants you to decide within 14 days if you are friends
The Silicon Review
27 March, 2018

Facebook is working on a pilot feature, which assigns a time limit of 14 days for an individual to accept a friend request from another individual. If no action is taken by the person who has received the friend request then Facebook will automatically delete the friend request.

For now, this feature is only being tested on a limited group of individuals and not on all of the Facebook users. If you are included in this test group you will see a message reading “14 days to respond”to the friend request.

This feature aims to keep the friend request queue fresh and clean and also aims to get rid of spam requests that currently, just end up staying in the queue. The Facebook app allows you to have a maximum of 5000 requests as of now, beyond which no more requests can be sent to the individual, so this feature will also solve the problem of saturated accounts.

We will see a lot of changes on Facebook in the coming days since the Cambridge Analytica scandal has left Facebook to prove itself as a secure platform for users to be comfortable to continue using it.
