WS80A - The Ultrasound Device Designed by Samsung Shows 3D Images
The Silicon Review
21 June, 2018

Samsung has designed a device that showcases three-dimensional images of various organs and of foetuses. This device is developed using ultrasound processing engine by collaborating with Samsung’s medical instrument arm – Samsung Medison and is called WS80A.

The main reason for developing this device is to give doctors a solution in identifying potential congenital diseases in foetuses. Mothers will be able to see vivid images of their babies in order to develop better connection and intimacy. It also allows doctors to take 3D images of patients that is very detailed and precise.

This device will improve the accuracy of the entire treatment by optimizing CrystalLive engine. Samsung wants to enter university-run hospitals and show them this high-level diagnosis.

This device is expected to release in The US, Europe, and South Korea. Although there are no speculations on why it is only released in these countries but there are reports that it might be available in other markets present around the world. The scheduling will depend on approval from local authorities (according to reports).

You can follow social media apps to get more information on this tech. Earlier Samsung had designed 5D Heart color technology that can be used to detect heart diseases in foetuses. It did show potential to withstand in the market. We might see the same success with WS80A as well. But does it deliver what Samsung says it will? We have to wait and watch.
