The First Consumer Tango Phone...The first consumer phone running Google’s crazy computer version system – “PHAB2 Pro”, debuted at the Lenovo’s Tech World event in San Francisco.
Some of the amazing features built-in PHAB2 Pro is:
“Project Tango strives to give mobile devices a human-like understanding of space and motion through advanced sensor fusion and computer vision, enabling new and enhanced types of user experiences – including 3D scanning, indoor navigation and immersive gaming,” said Johnny Lee, ATAP’s technical program lead.
What is Tango?
Google in its announcement asks: “What if you could capture the dimensions of your home simply by walking around with your phone before you went furniture shopping? What if directions to a new location didn’t stop at the street address? What if you never again found yourself lost in a new building?”
Tango is Google’s software with computer vision capability to phones and tablets. Tango helps 3D scanning of rooms at your home and builds a visual map of the rooms with the use of sensors. It also has amplified immersive reality gamming. Android-based prototype 5” friendly Tango will open up new avenues for indoor navigation. Smart Phones are poised to get smarter with motion and space understanding from Tango sensors.
