WhatsApp for Android to have adaptive launcher icon

WhatsApp for Android to have adaptive launcher icon
The Silicon Review
10 March, 2018

WhatsApp is likely to have a refined version of beta for Android users. The latest version of beta for Android smartphones appears to have a small but very clear change - the addition of adaptive launcher icon support. The new icon will be almost identical to the older version featuring a more shadowy look. The users for Android WhatsApp beta can change the shape of icons that are identical to other apps on their smartphones.

To change the adaptive launcher immediately, the user must update to the beta version of WhatsApp. If any user is currently using the beta version, they should have the latest app already or they will have to wait for the official update of the new functionality. Also, another thing to be noticed is that the users must get an Android launcher that will support adaptive icons in order to use the new feature.

The latest beta update will have features like automatic adjustment of five different shapes, i.e., circle, square, rounded square, squircle, and teardrop according to the remaining icons ensuring an organized appearance.

WhatsApp recently added another feature which enables the users to whip out all the messages for everyone within 68 minutes. This feature was introduced in the WhatsApp beta version 2.18.69. Additionally, WhatsApp also released two more beta versions for Android (v2.18.70 and v.2.18.71), with disabled-by-default features like Locked Recording (locking the voice message record button into place when recording), and sticker pack size display.
