The Silicon Review
16 July, 2018

Accenture acquires Kogentix – an AI and Big data company based in the USA. The announcement was made public on Saturday.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Becoming part of Accenture Applied Intelligence will allow us to seize a greater share of this market,” said Boyd Davis, CEO, Kogentix. “We’re excited by the scale and scope of projects that will open up to us, as well as the long-term career and growth opportunities for our team,” he added.

With the acquisition, Accenture’s applied intelligence growing data engineering business will be strengthened by Kogentix, primarily in North America, as firms are looking to explore open source big data and analytics technologies to find out more opportunities for revenue generation and cost reduction across the enterprise.

“Open source big data platforms and artificial intelligence is offering companies more opportunities than ever to become data-driven, intelligent enterprises. But marrying these new technologies with their old analytics world is becoming a key challenge for them,” said Narendra Mulani, CAO, Accenture (Applied Intelligence).

Kogentix helps technologies like Spark, Python and Hadoop in delivering different assets to well-established apps.

The start-up was founded in 2015 and it currently has more than 220 data scientists, big data engineers, software developers, and machine learning engineers. Headquartered in the USA, it looks after a large range of clients in the field of technology, consumer goods, financial services, and healthcare.
