Walmart Expects Us to Believe That It’s Turning Into A Tech Company

Walmart Expects Us to Believe That It’s Turning Into A Tech Company
The Silicon Review
19 July, 2018

Walmart’s partnership including the new services has shown that it is evolving as a tech company. We all know that Microsoft and Walmart have joined hands in a cloud computing partnership. Walmart has planned to launch a video streaming platform that can be less in terms of price while you compare it with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Walmart is really going out of its comfort zone and expanding in other fields like the implementation of A.I. by partnering with Google so that it can bolster its online shopping. Self-scanning robots have begun patrolling aisles in Walmarts’ stores and have traveled over 2,000miles. Virtual Reality is also used for employee training and digital shopping. The same-day delivery service called Jetblack is expected to be improved by connecting it to voice ordering interfaces.

It is certainly hard to say anything now, because of how things are for Walmart regarding its revenue. Although the company saw a big jump in the e-commerce growth for the first quarter of 2018, it eventually lost the same money in redesigning the online grocery portals.

It is evident that the company really wants to implement the latest tech in order to be ahead of the curve. Let us see if this plan really works in favor of Walmart.
