Facebook-owned analytics company Onavo launches a new application
The Silicon Review
12 March, 2018

Onavo is an Israeli based Analytics company that was acquired by Facebook in 2013. The company provides analytics tool for cell phones across the globe. Finally, it has launched a new application for iOS users that can bolt other applications on the home screen of their devices. The name of the application is “Bolt app lock” which allows users to lock any application by using a PIN code, pattern or fingerprint on their devices.

The purpose of creating this application was to protect other applications from unauthorized access. The main highlight of the Bolt app lock is it  would track down the apps which is used by the consumers and track down the device information.  Finally, the data would be sent to Facebook for investigation. According to a report, like others in this space, the Bolt App Lock lets you lock down other apps that contain personal information such as private photos or payment details.

The Bolt app lock is the only latest application which helps users to lock other applications. With the resources of Facebook, Onavo has created a more polished and modern alternative to the existing application that is available in the market. Recently, Facebook has begun to advertise the application directly to the users within its main navigation page on iOS under the menu item “Protect” that would attract the users to its Onavo VPN. Once it is clicked, the link would guide the users to the download page on the App Store.
