Folks Eagerly Waiting For IPhone 8 Might Have To Wait Little Longer
The Silicon Review
12 June, 2017

The Apple iPhone is expected to debut later this year. The phone is rumored to be loaded with tons of goodies  such as Curved, edge-to-edge OLED display with True Tone technology, possibly with Ion-X glass, Wireless charging, Dual-lens camera, possibly in a vertical configuration and/or with AR capabilities, and under-screen fingerprint sensor.

But it seems the tech giant has run into some challenges; Samsung, the lead OLED panel provider, is reportedly struggling with integrating the fingerprint sensor under the screen. Broadcom, which manufactures some of the wireless components, and Analog Devices Incorporated, a sensor supplier, have also reportedly seen production issues.

The release of the iPhone 8 will probably be later than Apple's phones usually appear because of these delays. Traditionally, Apple has announced its new iPhone every year in September, and had it on shelves two weeks later.

Some reports suggest that Apple and its suppliers have resolved any and all issues; the phones are currently in production, and will the company will totally deliver in early September. The increasing number of detailed design drawings and iPhone 8-ready case protectors appearing online would seem to support the conclusion that Apple has settled on a final design. Still, other sources report that Apple has been stymied in its efforts to integrate the new tech and that this year's September rollout is in doubt.

So all we can do is sit tight, fingers crossed hoping iPhone 8 will be launched this year. As it is the 10th year anniversary for the iPhone.
