Instagram’s New App for Shopping might be Launched Soon

According to a report, Instagram is building a standalone app exclusively for shopping. The app maybe named as Instagram shopping. It will allow users to buy products within a wide variety of collection from different merchants that they follow. They can purchase directly from the app.

The release date of the app has not been revealed by Instagram. The development of the app is under process and the company could cancel it before its release. Right now, Instagram is in a great position to make a move towards the e-commerce business. The standalone app will pave a way for Facebook to expand opportunities for generating revenue.

With more than 25M active business accounts, 2M of the accounts are advertisers. Currently, four in five users on Instagram follow at least one business. In the course of time, Facebook may launch more business-based tools for merchants on Instagram, directly competing with e-commerce platforms like Shopify.

Today, it is recommended to have a business account on Instagram if he/she is looking to expand any kind of business. There are various companies which sell tools to Instagram advertisers to promote business.

In 2016, Instagram tested a shopping feature and launched it out more broadly in March 2017. Companies can tag posts with individual products, allowing users to shop directly from photos. Instagram is currently testing a feature that lets users shop from Instagram stories.

It will be interesting to see whether Instagram releases the app or not. If the app rolls out soon, it will be a major boost for the users.
