Swiggy, the Indian food ordering and delivering app will expand its Swiggy Access service, with delivery-only kitchen in four cities. The cities include Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata. The company announced the expansion on Wednesday.

According to Swiggy, the Access will assist existing restaurants in expanding their branches to more locations. The process will be carried out through delivery-only kitchens quickly. With that, the restaurants would not need to invest in real estates.

The partners of restaurants will be able to use ready, kitchen facility without any kind of rent or deposits.

According to Vishal Bhatia, CEO of Swiggy’s new supply business, the company believes that the future of the restaurant industry is bright with delivery-only-kitchens. The transition will happen because of Swiggy Access, as it will expand at a faster rate among the tier I and tier II cities.

Swiggy Access is also helping restaurant partners to expand to different cities. Through this initiative, famous South Indian restaurant Vasudev Adigas (based in Bangalore) will be available to consumers in New Delhi.

The main aim of this initiative is to deliver high-quality food closer to consumers and at the same time, it will help its restaurant partners to expand their business.

Launched in 2014, currently, Swiggy partners with over 40,000 restaurants in 27 cities.

According to Biju Thomas, COO of Vasudev Adigas, the partnership with Swiggy Access has been exceptional and the success rate is high. The company is excited about expanding its business in other cities with the help of Access kitchens.
