LG Switch to Microsoft’s Cloud Platform For its Self-Driving Vehicle Software

South Korea’s LG Electronics has made an announcement that it has joined hands with software giant Microsoft in order to accelerate its development of autonomous car software and advanced driver assistance systems. The announcement was made public earlier this week.

The South Korean company will harness the software giant’s AI technology and Azure cloud to Driver Status Monitoring Camera, and Multipurpose Front Camera and ADAS system where deep learning is being tapped to improve such systems.

ADAS has the capability to warn a rider and engage brakes whenever a person approaches from ma blind spot. The system helps the drivers to park cars on the roadside if they the fall, asleep.

As per the companies, Microsoft Azure will cut down the evolving and learning time for LG autonomous car software. The cities where autonomous driving systems take more than a day to comprehend while with Azure the same job will be done in one minute time.

In between a highly competitive market, the South Korean company’s operations, focused on telematics equipment to improve safety and convenience have struggled.
