Homework is one of those things that most students dislike. But it is an integral part of education and helps children cement all the concepts they’ve learned in class. However, many students struggle with homework and often find it too difficult to finish. An online platform named Brainly aims to address the problem of homework that plagues millions of school kids across the globe.

Founded in Poland, Brainly is a platform for school students to discuss homework problems in a wide range of subjects including mathematics, science, languages, history, and so on. The company has just raised an amazing $30 million in funding in the latest round. Previous investors include Naspers, Runa Capital, and Manta Ray, all of whom participated in a $14 million round of funding in 2017.

Brainly has over 150 million users in 35 countries, up from 100 million last year. Michal Borkowski, the CEO and one of the founders of Brainly announced intentions for further expansion and monetization after its recent round of funding. It is currently free for use and users see advertisements, with a $3 subscription for ad-free usage.

One of the major differentiating factors about Brainly is the range of languages it supports. While there are a few competitors, Brainly is perhaps the only such platform that supports Polish, Russian, Spanish, English, in addition to a few Asian languages. Most companies in this space only support English and so have a smaller user base.
