CES 2019: LG Shows Updated Workplace Robots
The Silicon Review
07 January, 2019

CES 2019 has a number of showcases and one of them is by the LG Electronics. It will be showing the enhancements to its workplace robotics line. An updated version of its wearable CLOi SuitBot, an industrial robotic suit that helps wearers to lift heavy loads will be seen at CES 2019. It will also show improved versions of its service robots - PorterBot, ServeBot and CartBot - which are nearing commercial availability. Many are certainly interested in this new tech and many look forward to seeing how it might affect the future market.

The updated LG CLOi SuitBot will be supporting the waist along with the augments of a user's own muscle power to reduce the risk of injury. Furthermore, it will be concentrating on the fatigue factor when performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting and lowering heavy loads. SuitBot is said to increase a user's flexibility by enabling the 50-degree extension. This means that it will have a 90-degree flexion of the waist. This eventually will be activating the wearer bends at a 65-degree angle that will be disengaging when standing in an upright position. The wearable robot will be operating for up to four hours on a single charge. The recharge time is said to be around an hour.
