Aicha Evans is appointed as the new CEO of the self-driving car startup Zoox

Zoox, a self-driving car startup has appointed its new CEO. The company fired its former CEO Tim Kentley-Klaylast year. He was also co-founder of the company. As informed by the CTO and co-founder, Jesse Levinson, the company was looking for someone with more executive and operational experience to drive the company towards growth.

Therefore, Aicha Evans is appointed as the new CEO of the companyand the member of the board of directors. She has been working at Intel as its Chief Strategy Officer. Evans will take the charge from February 26th. “I am thrilled to join Zoox and challenge the status quo with an autonomous mobility system built from the ground up,” said Evans. Zoox is one of the promising companies that are striving towards a fully autonomous future. “I look forward to helping the company’s exceptionally talented team continue to grow as we unlock more technical and commercial milestones,”she further added.

It was a challenging task to find someone with leadership and creative abilities to guide Zoox in its next stage of development. This is where Aicha Evans stepped in, with her experience of running an engineering teamcomprising of as large as 7000 employees. Evans has 12 years of working experience at Intel, where she was responsible for the company’s transformation into a data-centric business. Hence, Zoox looks forward as what she will bring to the table as the company’s new leader!
