Google’s Verily to make new Smart shoes

Verily, Google’s parent company is seeking partners to manufacture smart shoes.  The company’s aim is to produce shoes which can track weight and also monitor falls; therefore, Verily wants partners who can help them to make the shoes with sensors and embedded trackers to fulfill its product goals.

According to a report published by CNBC, Verily has been showcasing different prototypes of the design among potential partners in personal meetings so that they can get more partners to co-develop the new shoes and launch it in the marketplace.

It’s still not clear about the project’s progression, but, if the company launch these shoes, it could identify many health problems that happen due to weight. For example, some people may gain weight without any cause but internally it may be a symptom of congestive heart failure due to excess fluid build-up.

The second feature of the new shoes, i.e. fall detection, it could prevent injuries among senior citizens. According to a report, in the US, falls are the foremost cause of injuries and deaths among senior citizens.Thus, Verity’s shoes can create a big impact in the shoe industry if they are launched.

This feature is already released by Apple in their Smartwatch Series 4. The watch can automatically dial up an emergency number if the user‘s Apple’s watch falls and doesn’t move. Apart from Verily, another company called E-VONE has already produced a range of smart shoes which can detect fall.
