Teatime Rolls out a new Gaming Platform Called Teatime Live
The Silicon Review
21 Febuary, 2019

Iceland-based gaming studio, Teatime Games has rolled out a new gaming platform. Dubbed as Teatime Live, the platform is equipped with a built-in video chat feature.

Teatime Live enables users to carry out conversations with each other through its built-in video chat on smartphones. The platform is packed with features like Snapchat-style face filters called Game Faces. Users can find the feature on top of the video chat. The best part of Game Faces is that in every other game, users get different filters.

The new platform is rolling out with Hyperspeed, the in-house race game of the company. Apart from that, it also intends to work as a publishing partner with other game developers.

The new platform may be a problem for strangers to start a live video chat across the internet, but Teatime has taken necessary steps to prevent abuse.

Any users who wish to play Teatime games must register themselves and cannot play as a guest. The users must sign up with Gmail, Facebook or phone number.

The system in Teatime Games can recognize faces as its game-face filters work on facial recognition technology. Users can use the service only when they are friends on the platform, which means that Teatime will blur the picture unless two users mutually become friends.

The gaming studio is looking to develop games based on proven models where they can earn money from their own games.
