WhatsApp Releases New Security feature for iOS Users

There is some good news for iOS users as they can now lock their WhatsApp text messages through a Touch ID and Face ID. WhatsApp has released a new security feature on Monday. It is the latest update for WhatsApp. With Effective from Monday, all the iPhone and iPad users will be able to use the new feature.

The new version, i.e. 2.19.20 for WhatsApp on iOS has improved the security and will safeguard the messages from falling into the wrong hands. The new feature enables users to authenticate their WhatsApp account through Face ID or Touch ID.

The iOS users can download the new update through the App Store. After downloading, the new feature will add a “Screen Lock” toggle on WhatsApp which can be accessed by heading over to Settings > Account > Privacy.

The messaging platform will send quick chat notification to the users. They can view the notifications by choosing message previews and also send a fast reply as well. Users can use the new feature can be only accessed by passing the iOS authentication process. 

For now, WhatsApp has released the new feature only for iOS users but also intends to make it available to the Android users in the near future.

For Android users, WhatsApp boasted Picture-in-picture mode and was available across all devices running Google’s mobile OS. The messaging app is also expected to include two services in its platform, i.e. ‘add contacts’ and ‘QR code’ for seamless contact sharing.
