Zero unveils amazing new electric motorcycle
The Silicon Review
26 Febuary, 2019

The market for electric automobiles is rapidly gaining traction as more and more auto manufacturers scramble to launch electric vehicles. While the electric car market is dominated by large corporations and ruled by heavyweights like Tesla and Toyota, electric motorcycles still have some ways to go before becoming mainstream. However, the market for motorcycles might soon become interesting thanks to the California-based Zero Motorcycles. Founded in 2006 by a former NASA engineer, Zero has now unveiled its latest electric bike, the SR/F at an event in New York.

The SR/F features a beautiful digital dashboard along with an updated mobile application in addition to 110 horsepower and a range of up to 200 miles on a full charge. The company also plans to update the app to allow tracking it and scheduling charges, along with alerts in case of tampering and completion of charging. Moreover, it will also allow owners to check the status of their bike remotely. The best part about this is that Zero promises an amazing riding experience without any compromises on performance.

However, as with any new piece of tech, the starting price for Zero motorcycles is $18,995, meaning that all current models are available only to people with deep pockets. A couple of other benefits include a clever storage space where the fuel normally is and the ability to charge overnight, which means owners would never have to leave home without a full tank.

Zero currently faces competition from the iconic American motorcycle behemoth Harley-Davidson which rolled out its own electric bike called the LiveWire last year.
