Doorport launches a new Device for locking Doors more securely

Doorport, an American company which specializes in developing smart software and hardware for buildings has rolled a new smart device for home locking systems.

Users can use the new device with their existing buzzer systems. The device will help to unlock the building’s door through a smartphone at one tap. After installing the device, the existing intercom system of the users will work just as it did before, but more in a way smarter manner.

According to Tech Crunch, the installation time for the device is around 5-10 minutes. A magnet will attach the device inside the intercom box. There are four wires for different purposes; two wires for power and the rest for controlling the door lock system by the device.  The size of the company’s current prototype is the size of a deck of cards; therefore, the device must be placed within an existing in-place intercom system.

Users can download the Doorstep app and use it for the new device. The app will help the users to search for nearby doors that they have access to.  The users can unlock the doors by pressing the on-screen padlock in a similar manner like they had scanned their key fob or typed in a code.

If any person comes and arrives with the app setup, they can send a message to the other person through the app so that the door can be unlocked. In terms of extra security, if a residence moves out of a building, the property manager can delete the resident’s profile with the help of the admin panel to prevent future access.
