Rovio Launches new AR game called Angry Birds Isle of Pigs

Rovio Launches new AR game called Angry Birds Isle of Pigs

Rovio, the Finland-based game developers have added AR to its Angry Birds game series. The new AR game version which is co-developed with Resolution games is called Angry Birds Isle of Pigs. Resolution Games is a game developer based in Sweden. The release was announced at the Game Developers Conference on Tuesday, people familiar with the matter said.

The conference was held in San Francisco, the US.

The Finnish company which is especially known for producing the Angry Birds game series stated that AR element has paved a way for players to overlay its 3D environment onto their own surroundings like a table or something else, by watching through an iPad or iPhone.

In an official statement, Rovio said that like never before, players will be allowed to take the power of the Angry Birds slingshot into their hands. Apart from that, Apple’s ARKit technology enables players to place the piggy into the player’s own environment.

Earlier, the company rolled out another AR-based game with Resolution Games; planned for Magic Leap’s gaming headset. Magic Leap is an American startup.

Apple Inc has also been creating its own AR glasses.

The new AR version of Angry Birds has unbolted new ways to deploy AR products in pads and smartphones.

Currently, the game is out for iPhone6s users and can be availed on the Apple app stores. Later on, the game will be out for iPad users.

Rovio, in February this year said that it anticipated sales to boost growth this year.
