Jumbo, a new privacy assistant at your rescue

Jumbo, a new privacy assistant at your rescue
The Silicon Review
10 April, 2019

We live in the era of social media where privacy is the easiest to be compromised. Jumbo, a privacy assistance app is a savior for the victims of privacy malpractices and intrusion.  Although there are privacy settings and instructions available in all well-known social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, etc., it is very time-consuming and frustrating to adjust those settings. Facebook itself has around 30 settings to deal with.

Wouldn’t it be great to have an assistant who can take care of the job? Well, we have one now. Presenting Jumbo, a privacy assistance app that saves its users hours by automatically adjusting the privacy settings of Facebook and also deleting old tweets after saving them to users’ phones. It can also clear up Google Search and Alexa history. It is coming up with clean-up features for Tinder and Instagram.

The question is whether the tech giants will let Jumbo operate or will block its usage. Jumbo is working to boost people’s trust and confidence in social media apps which will eventually increase their usage. However, such platforms earn mostly by exploiting users’ data and the giants are incentivized to find reasons to block Jumbo.

Nevertheless, if privacy is the concern, users would definitely turn to Jumbo rather than manually handling privacy instructions and settings which would take a lot of time and research to do it properly. Jumbo is currently available on iOS and it is going to be launched for Android users soon.
