siliconreview Apple Release a new iPod touch model

Apple has launched a new version of its iPod touch. The new iPod touch is equipped with the A10 Fusion system-on-a-chip. The looks of the new model are pretty similar like the older model – four-inch display, a classic home button, and various color options.

The iPhone 7 was the first model which was powered by the A10 Fusion chip. The new iPod will support iOS 12. Users can also carry out Face Time conversations and use ARKit. The older model was not that powerful to support these features.

There is no Touch ID or Face ID in iPod, so, users will have to use a password for locking it. But there is a headphone jack at the bottom of the device.

In terms of cost, the iPod touch is cheaper than the iPhone. The Cupertino-giant will release three models of the new iPod touch: $199 model has 32GB of storage; $299 model has 128GB of storage and for $399, one can enjoy storage capacity of 256 GB. There are sic color variants for the new model and would be available for purchase at Apple’s official website from Wednesday. The product will be available at retail stores from later this week itself.

The iPod touch is a great device for a kid who doesn’t own a smartphone as it can be a great standalone video and music play for them.

The new iPod can also be used as a remote to control music on a different range of speakers.
