The Silicon Review
15 May, 2019

Apple has made updates to its iOS for phones, Mac, TV, and watch. The new updated versions include the iOS 12.3, watchOS 5.2.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.5, and tv 12.3. Along with all these a new 7.3 versions of firmware for Apple TV 3 has also been released.

Coming to the new TV app, the company has included Apple TV channels in it. Users can now stream videos of different genre consolidating in a single platform. Now, subscribing and unsubscribing to a channel will be easier than ever. The new app also promises to deliver streaming contents from service providers such as Showtime, Cinemax, Epix, HBO, Stars, Acorn TV, Smithsonian and some others. Users can also download offline contents from HBO.

The company has redesigned its interface making the dashboard more users friendly and has a different section exclusively for kids.

The new iOS update will fix the bugs which were previously reported in apps such as CarPlay, Apple Music, Apple News+, Apple TV Remote, and AirPlay 2.

In some European countries such as Slovakia, Croatia, Iceland, and Poland; Apple watches users are receiving updates to their app. The updates include notifications for irregular heartbeat and ECG within the new version of watchOS.

While other firmware included in the release are: macOS 10.14.5 and HomePod OS 12.3 respectively.  Most of the updates maybe the last ones before the overhauled iOS 13 is released. Generally, Apple releases any beta version to the developers at its premium event- WWDC and in September they release the stable versions along with a new iPhone.
